Fedcap offers vocational training in the fields of Culinary Arts, Custodial Arts, Data Entry/Digital Imaging, Office Skills, Hospitality and Mailroom and Messenger Services.
Students train in a working cafeteria, learning to prepare appetizers, salads, entrees, sandwiches, vegetables, pastas, soups, sauces, gravies, and baked goods. With emphasis on basic nutrition, management operations, sanitation, safety, and customer relations, students are well positioned for careers in the food service industry.
This program is specifically designed for students with disabilities. Students receive hands-on training on the latest cleaning techniques using state-of-the-art equipment. Training includes instruction on safety protocol and customer services skills. Graduates are well-equipped for entry-level positions in custodial services and building maintenance.
Data Entry/Digital Imaging Training
This program is designed to give students skills and knowledge in keyboarding and data entry and proficiency in Microsoft Office database, document imaging, and spreadsheet applications. Students also train in the concepts of records management and customer service. This curriculum has been designed to enable students to develop job competencies required for entry-level clerical employment; emphasizing, but not limited to data entry, document scanning and imaging, and customer service.
Mailroom and Messenger Services
Fedcap offers a two-month work readiness program, designed specifically for individuals with disabilities, which gives students the skills needed for entry-level customer service and office support jobs. Students receive training in basic computer skills, customer service, keyboarding, filing, mail distribution and inventory, as well as group activities in work behaviors such as professionalism, communication, following instructions and job seeking skills.
Office Skills Training
This program blends traditional office administration skills such as typing and filing with current computer technology and applications. With an increasing need for employees with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, this program is intended to provide entry-level skills for employment. The objective of this program is to train students to be able to find a job in a professional business or other office with computer application skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, as well as skills to perform routine administrative, clerical, telephone and reception procedures.
