Our training program prepares you for an entry-level position in hospitality, a fast-growing career field with a demand for skilled employees. Students gain insight into the travel and tourism industry, with a focus on customer service. You will cover subjects such as career opportunities, guest relations, hotel organization, reservation systems, front office operations, housekeeping, security and safety, and food and beverage operationswhile practicing your skills with our computerized hotel reservations and front desk system.
Students examine a variety of hotel types and classes, with particular emphasis on chains, franchises, and independent operations in the greater metropolitan area. You will study the day-to-day operations and employee responsibilities in all hotel departments, including:

- Concierge
- Culinary
- Engineering & Maintenance
- Front Desk
- Housekeeping

You will also learn the history and "language" of the industry, and about the typical orientation process for new employees at hotels. Finally, the program teaches all students how to conduct a successful job search and begin a career in hotel operations.

This program will give you a competitive advantage in obtaining one of the numerous entry-level positions in the hotel industry, such as Bell Person, Bus Person, Entry Cook, Front Desk Agent, Housekeeping Attendant, Minibar Attendant, Pantry Person, Public Space (Banquet Set-up) Attendant, Reservation Agent, Restaurant Cashier, Restaurant Host, Room Attendant, Room Service Order Taker, Telephone Operator, and Ware Washer.

As with all of our programs, students in the Hospitality Operations program have access to our Student Support Services Department and to Fedcaps professional vocational rehabilitation services.
