Learn the skills you need for an entry-level position in the food service industry, while training in our actual, working cafeteria. The program covers a variety of related topics, from basic nutrition to cooking skills to customer relations and management operations.

Students from our Culinary Arts/Food Service program are eligible for a wide range of entry-level positions in the food industry, including corporate and school cafeterias, and hotel kitchens.

You will learn how to prepare a wide range of foods, including hot and cold sandwiches, pastas, rice dishes, fried foods, salads, vegetables, appetizers, soups, sauces and gravies. You will receive introductory training in specialty dishes, such as meat, poultry and fish, as well as in bakery operations. We will also teach you the basics of sanitation and safety, as well as how to receive and store food and supplies.

As with all of our programs, students in the Culinary Arts/Food Service program have access to our Student Support Services Department and to Fedcap’s professional vocational rehabilitation services. These services are available to help you stay focused on your training, find a job, and move forward in an exciting and fulfilling career!
