Spring Cocktail Party
More than 100 friends and supporters celebrated Fedcap, Wildcat Service Corp. and The Way to Work at Fedcap’s Spring Cocktail Party at the Time Warner Center June 13.
Fernando Santiago and Robert McCall, both graduates of Fedcap’s custodial training services program, shared their personal success stories in person and via video.
The group also heard from Fedcap President and CEO Christine McMahon and Board Chair Mark O’Donoghue, who announced the Amalia Betanzos Distinguished Service Award, in memory of the longtime CEO of Wildcat Service Corp. which, like The Way to Work, combined with Fedcap in 2011.
Ms. Betanzos was a vital force in New York’s Puerto Rican community and beyond through her efforts on behalf of women and the chronically unemployed. Carl Weisbrod, who also led Wildcat and served as a member and Chair of its Board, shared some of his memories of knowing and working with Ms. Betanzos.
The recipient of the inaugural Amalia Betanzos Distinguished Service Award will be announced at Fedcap’s gala on November 26.
