Michael Kurtz joined Fedcap in October 2010. Responsible for the agency’s fiscal operations, he establishes and maintains financial controls to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and the efficient use of resources.

Mr. Kurtz previously served as CFO of Common Ground Community Corporation, a nonprofit focused on housing for low-income and formerly homeless individuals. In seven years with Common Ground, Mr. Kurtz helped build the organization’s assets from $125 million to $450 million. At Ernst & Young for eight years, during which time he became a CPA, Mr. Kurtz specialized in helping clients develop financial models to understand the implications of contemplated financial and operational restructurings. Previously, he was controller for an information technology services division of Lockheed Martin that provided systems and services to state and local governments. Mr. Kurtz earned his BA from Franklin and Marshall College and his MBA from New York University.
