Mental Health Outpatient Services
Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial and addictions assessments, and develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Provide ongoing effective and efficient mental health interventions including but not limited to, crisis intervention, case management, group therapy, individual and family therapy.
Essential Functions
- Conduct initial mental health and addictions diagnostic evaluations for adults
- Conduct comprehensive assessments
- Provide group, individual and family therapy
- Develops initial treatment plan and refers to the appropriate level of care
- Completes all documentation required by agency in a timely manner
- Participates in a weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Participates in clinical supervision
- Refers clients to other services that clients may request
- Afterhours crisis prevention
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of psychological research methods and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.
- Excellent active listening skills and being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and proactively engage in problem resolution
Qualifications
- New York State certified (LCSW,LMSW, MSW, or BSW) social worker, or other qualified mental health professional
- 3-5+ years experience in treatment of adults living with mental illness, addictions and co-occurring disorders
- Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) is a plus
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
