Job Summary:
The Career Services Team will deliver career coaching and develop job retention/career advancement plans for individuals. The team aims to connect job seekers to skills development services in the form of occupational skills training and literacy courses that will provide the skills needed to gain employment and advance post-placement.  The team is also responsible for reengaging those customers for job placement after training completion.  Two career adviser positions will work with young adults aged 18-24.

Location: The Bronx

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet regularly with customers to assess skills and expertise.
• Create and edit customer resumes.
• Work with the Account Management Team to fill job orders.
• Supervise customers engaged in computer-driven job search.
• Provide support and guidance to customers in job search.
• Match customers with appropriate opportunities.
• Prepare customers for applications and interviews, providing employer specific information.
• Assist with tracking and reporting attendance, interviews, placements and other program metrics.
• Provide intensive individual-based career planning and coaching.
• Provide follow-up retention services to support continued and stable employment.
• Coordinate resources for continuing education and training that leads to career advancement.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Four year college degree in Counseling, Education or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in counseling, staffing, human resources or workforce development.
• Experience in case management and/or career counseling and working with economically disadvantaged workers, welfare recipients and disadvantaged populations.
• Experience working with young adults within a youth development framework (for those positions working with youth).

Bilingual (English-Spanish) required for some positions.
