Michael Rendel is the Medical Director, Health Services at Goldman Sachs, responsible for all health-related services including on-site medical services, case management services, and medical consultation. He has wide experience in pandemic planning across global organizations. Dr. Rendel has 20 years’ experience as a physician in private practice and occupational medicine, with expertise on the effect of medical issues in corporate services and benefits. He has led medical consultation, operation of on-site medical facilities, wellness outreach programs, disability management and public health issues. Previously, he was Medical Director at Merrill Lynch, leading all aspects of employee medical and wellness care. As a private physician, Dr. Rendel specialized in primary care, HIV/AIDS, men’s health, travel medicine, and infectious diseases. He has been published extensively in academic journals.

Dr. Rendel is a member of the National Corporate Medical Directors Association, the Multinational Cooperative Group on International Medicine, the American Medical Association, and many other professional groups. He has been a member of the Board of Advisors at the Center for Health Innovation.

He received his BA from Brown University and his MD from the University of Maryland, and completed his residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He joined the Fedcap Board in 2011.
