David Edwards
David Edwards is Managing Director and Head of the Global Corporates, North America office of Standard Chartered Bank. The team is responsible for the bank’s U.S. and Mexican Multinational Client relationships. He is also the senior executive overseeing four of the bank’s largest U.S. Fortune 100 customers.
Mr. Edwards began his banking career with The Irving Trust Company in 1987, where he completed a credit training program and held a succession of positions in their Corporate, Real Estate and Trade & Multinational Banking divisions. Previously, he was a U.S. State Department Refugee Section Team Leader for five years in Bangkok, directing teams of up to 125 people reviewing Vietnamese, Cambodian and Lao refugees’ applications for U.S. resettlement. He also has worked with Food for the Hungry International, where he initiated a multidisciplinary development project in Thailand.
Mr. Edwards is a co-chair of the Strategic Planning Committee of the Hoboken Shelter and is on the Board of Governors of Opportunity International, one of the largest microfinance organizations globally, working in 28 countries on five continents. He has an MBA from Cornell University, and joined the Fedcap Board in 2011.
